OpenEdge architecture
The architecture for the OpenEdge database is known as Type II. Prior to Release 10, the supported architecture was known as Type I. OpenEdge Release 10 continues to support the Type I architecture, but since Type II offers significant advantages in both storage efficiency and data access performance, you should consider migrating your legacy databases to a Type II storage architecture.
